When are Competitions?

Are Leotards/Warm-ups required?

Registration for AAU/USAG

Competitions take place in different states at different times. Normally one day during a Friday-Sunday.

Each level will compete at one time,

on ONE of these days(except USAG kids).

October-April will be our "competition/meet season". Your gymnast may attend any meet they are eligible for. Meet Entry Fees are an extra cost to you, billed before each meet they attend, normally between $100-$150.

Parents and guardians will be responsible for travel costs for their gymnast.

Registration for AAU/USAG

Every Team ("Club") is registered with the organizations they choose. Every Gymnast also must register with those organizations.

IAGA gymnasts will be required to register through AAU and USAG is optional.

Fee for AAU is currently under $20.

USAG is reserved for dedicated families and their gymnasts. Gymnasts will register every September, once the decision is made by the gymnast, parents & Coaches fee is $63 (2019).

At what age can my child compete?

Leotards ARE REQUIRED at IAGA at all times. A team leotard will be required for each gymnast, to compete for the IAGA Team during meets.

Team leotards are not to be worn at practice unless told to do so.  Warm-ups will also be required for meets/events for IAGA Team.

(Team Leos/Warm-ups ordered in September).

As gymnastics is an expensive sport, we do everything we can to help deter the cost!

Fundraising ideas always welcome!!

What's the difference? AAU? USAG?

At what age can my child compete?

Children can start as early as 2yrs at IAGA!

Unfortunately, they will have to wait until they are 5 to compete. Please DON'T WAIT to bring your child in! The younger they are, the better they will be in gymnastics. Focus will come with age but their body and skills come with repetition and conditioning. Every child has the potential if they work hard enough in this sport! If your child would just like to try gymnastics, there are many recreational classes to choose from, depending on their age and/or skill range.

What level can my child compete?

What's the difference? AAU? USAG?

What's the difference? AAU? USAG?

Both AAU and USAG have detailed rules and procedures for levels and moving up. Every child will start in Xcel Bronze or Xcel Silver regardless of their age. Movement to another level takes required scores and skills. If your child has competed at a higher level, they can always compete at the same level, or lower.

If your gymnast is new to IAGA, we will place them in a specific level after a few months of training and goal setting.

What's the difference? AAU? USAG?

The AAU and USAG Organizations both have Xcel Programs. And both have the same rules for the most part.

All gymnasts on the team will have the opportunity to compete at multiple meets with AAU and USAG.

USAG competitions open the door to a higher level of competition and tighter judging scores. For these reasons, there will be required placement for USAG every September. USAG will take more dedication from the Gymnast and family.  We always welcome any questions.
